Gehan Homes was established in 1991 by three brothers – Glenn Gehan, Peter Gehan, and Tim Gehan. The homebuilder expanded rapidly in financial strength, customer base, and reach, extending to the neighboring state of Arizona. Based in Addison, Texas, the company concentrated on detached family homes in over sixty home communities in Texas and Arizona.
In April 2014, Gehan Homes entered into a partnership with the Japanese home construction company Sumitomo Forestry America. It’s believed that they acquired 51% stake in Gehan Homes. Over the years, the building firm has acquired equity stake in other homebuilders, including Bloomfield Homes, MainVue Homes, and Dan Ryan Builders.
